One day at a time…

That’s how I’m going to have to tackle my sweet addiction. It is so hard. There is so much I can do without but that sugar, my goodness does it have a huge hold on me. The scale is showing it too. I should be dropping what I gained from my period but it’s not budging, it’s stuck and I know why, it’s that sugar. It’s really terrible and I know better so for today, so for this morning, so for this hour I am not going to have any extra sugar. Just a small bowl of oatmeal and a banana for breakfast, a salad with lots of veggies for lunch and tonight mama and I are going out for dinner. It’s her birthday this week and we are going to go to Pizza Hut and have a stuffed crust cheese pizza and a huge glass of ice-water and then go to a movie. I don’t crave the pop-corn there, it never has asked me to eat it but the malted milk balls, now they scream my name so for today I will not have them. I will bring some sugar free gum with and chew that. I will bring in a bottle of water and just enjoy the movie mama picked.

I have too, I HAVE TOO!!! You know I never had this problem before. It was sometime this past summer when this sweet tooth found me. Oh I’ve liked my M&M’s but that was really about all. I didn’t just go to the store and look for candy, it was good to eat but I didn’t have to HAVE it, now … well I seem to think I HAVE to have it and I know better.

So today, one day at a time, one section of the day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time I will not have any today.

How are you doing today? Anything you just have to have and shouldn’t? How are you handling it?

Take care my friends and God Bless!!!

We never get food at the movies. 1. We don't need it and 2. It's too expensive! I fall back on the sugarless gum too. Have fun today.

Enjoy your night out, movies with Mom sounds fun. I am having a sugar battle as well, the fudge at Christmas just about did me in.

Have you tried the sugarless gum that tastes like dessert? Mom bought me some the other day and I tell you what it is quite good, mint choc chip was very yummy.

I've had a couple of lapses lately but not really sugar. Starch like biscuits are finding me weak in the willpower department. I just need to keep those things out of the house. When Kailee and Mike move out I will be able to get rid of some junk food and have more control over what I bring in.

Hang in there, Julie. I know you can beat the sugar addiction.

Oh my gosh, I totally needed this today. Yesterday? Yesterday was horrible for me. Being back on plan, my cravings are always really bad for the worst week or so, and add to that the fact that I think TOM is on it's way, and it's all I can do not to dive face first into some pizza and chocolate cake--and I don't even really LIKE chocolate cake. Yesterday I was stressed; I found out my rent was going up $100 next year, and that my car needs to be scrapped and it was my first day of being back in school, and it was all KINDS of stressful. By the end of the day, I just wanted to order a pizza. I wanted to eat an entire pizza full of cheese and carbs and fatty deliciousness. I didn't, but it was hard. It was so hard. Forget one day at a time, it was one second at a time. Sometimes, this journey is so hard. Good luck this week, you're not alone.

Yup. Me too. If I don´t have my 3 or 4 candy´s in the morning I have this craving... I just need them. And I don´t really feel bad about it. Is that wrong? I think we walk/run it off. But of course when it interferes with losing weight, I will look at it again.

TOM cont?....I always craved choc. I can do berries sweetened with splenda when I want sugar....its the choc that I might kill for. Just take it day by day and hopefully you will get it out of your system. Have a god time with your mom.

Good for you. One day at a time is the way to do it. I have a sweet tooth as well. And sometimes it gets out of control, but then I just take a month or so and don't eat any, and then I'm good again. It's hard though. Good luck, Julie!!

Enjoy your night out, it sounds like a great night. :) I manage my sugar cravings with fruit mostly. It's not quite the same, but it's something sweet at least. :)

I feel your pain I am still having a visit from my monthly friend and sugar is all I want. Not so much candy but breads and you said something about pizza yum. My husband and I went from having pizza 2-3 times a week to not at all. I am so craving some pan pizza. Good job on making it to the gym.

Sugar can be so addictive - especially refined sugars. I am like you - if I don't start eating something sweet I can resist more easily. But if I eat something sweet early in the day - I have to be super careful!

I hope you and your Mama enjoyed the movie. And yup...that dang sugar is so hard to stay away from!! I tend to go for the salty greasy stuff myself...and that sure don't help things either. But you're right about the gum and water...they really do help us get thru...
