CDCC week 11….

Only 3 weeks left to get into my dress. I’m not positive it’ll happen or if I do get into it it won’t look like it did in 1980. But it won’t be from lack of trying or lack of focus it’ll just be because I am one of the slowest losers in the world but I am still losing, both weight and inches so even if it doesn’t fit perfect I will be wearing it for Jim at Christmas.

177.4, that’s the new number on the scale. Not quite a full pound but I’ll still take it and run. I am going to wait until the new year to work on keeping track of toning measurements. This challenge goes until just before Christmas and then I’m going to take a couple weeks off from blogging about weight and losses and more and then the 1st of January I’ll start that part of my new life style changes.

My book, well I’ve come to the end of the 40’s into the 50’s, I still can’t believe I am getting to be that age. There are some major changing happening to my body and mind in my 50’s. Not bad things but some major things. I have picked a new book. Check this out…

Since I am still learning to take care of myself I want a heads up on what else to expect. Of course the usual mentalpause, extra weight gain (which I am going to make sure doesn’t happen to me), hot flashes (which I get to experience almost on a daily basis now), loss of sexual desire (nope not happening here, in fact with weight loss that has turned into something pretty darn cool) and a super slow metabolism (which well has been with me for some long now)  but I want to know more. I can’t afford this book now but maybe I can put it on my wish list for Christmas.

I have visited each of you at least once this week and you guys are awesome. Yep, we screw up, yep we learn but you’re honest, your powerful and you all are teaching me something new along the way. Thank you!!!

It’s a new week, a week full of challenges and learning experiences and so much more. Will you succeed? I know you will, I have the utmost faith in all of you, I DO!!!!

Take care my friends and have a blessed Sunday and a super successful week.

What to expect in your 50s?
Well. MAYBE - with all the changes we "common people" are making in our lives, the expectations of weight gain and slow metabolism will just be a thing in the past.... Maybe status quo for a different generation... but for us... not so much!

I wish that book had been available to me 5 years ago. Sigh.

You're doing great, by the way. Thanks for the encouragement you have left for me.

I like to watch and listen to Oprah's [podcasts once in a while. A couple weeks ago I found this one:
Hormone Replacement Q&A - Audio 1:01:47 1/30/09 With Dr. Christiane Northrup.

You can google it. It is a great Q & A after a show with Chritianne Northrop, MD. I learned a lot since I am smack in menopause. But the good news is: the better you care for yourself~the better menopause seems to be.

Have a great week! michele

I'll bet that dress is not only going to fit, but it's going to look fantastic! I totally agree with you about the sexual desire- same thing is happening around here!

Your constant support and encouragement means so much to so many!

awwwwwwwww...i went teary.... you look beautiful in your sidebar, and even if you dont exactly fit in the dress you can wear another one and look gorgeous!!! loved the fact that you know - if you could not fit into the dress it was not because of lack of effort... .i am proud of you!!!

You have done an amazing job and that dress, even if it is a bit tight in a couple weeks, will just look perfect on you! That book - well, I'll need it in just a few short years.

I thought I had already commented, but I can´t find it. Boo to Blogger!

I would love to read that book. Great find.
Congrats to your loss, even though it was Thanksgiving and all. That´s great!
You will look awesome in your dress!

Good idea reading up on what to expect as you hit a new milestone..... I'll be 40 next year, I should do the same! Great job on the loss!

Julie! Julie! Julie!

What a great book - why wasn't there one similar, oh say, when we were 20 something and thought we were the smartest people on the face of the earth? I'll be 50 soon, too.

You will keep trying and keep after it, because this healthy stuff is for the rest of our lives. Our 50s are going to be a bazillion percent cooler than our 40s!!

You're honest to the T. Love that about you! Don't we get to see a picture of you in the red dress? Tried to download a pdf copy of the book yet?
