1 package of oatmeal….

or a piece of toast with PB or 13 cheetos' or 22 sweet potato fries, 1/4 cup of manwich with 98% ground beef, a banana, an 8oz glass of 1% milk, SF instant breakfast and unsweetened almond milk, 1 tlb chocolate chips…… Everything I eat is measured and the portions are so tiny. Except the lettuce salad or the pea pods, green beans, sweet peppers….I make the larges salad I could possible think I could finish and eat until I grow bunny ears and a fluffy tail. Anyone need a chubby, human sized Easter bunny? I’m growing one. :o)

I’m complaining a bit, I think of food before I get up, before I eat, while I’m eating, when I’m driving bus, after I exercise, during chores, watching TV. I hope that someday this stops. I’m trying not to letting my stomach rule my day or at least making it think it’s not the boss but this mornings breakfast was a package of maple and brown sugar oatmeal with 1/2 tsp of PB. 230 calories, 15 grams of sugar …. gone and I’m still hungry. I could usually drink a big glass of water but we all know that in less than 20 minutes I’ll be in a bus for 2.5 hours and not a potty insight. So I’m heading out the door, my tummy will live and the scale will go down and I will learn that, that is a serving of food and in 4 hours I can have something else.

Just rambling this morning. Need to eat like a thinner person. Practice, learning, become just a tad bit wiser….or at least trying.

Take care my friends and have an awesome day. It’s going to be a beautiful sunny, 30* day. I can handle that. Back to the gym for Week 2 Day 1 on my C25K and some stretching. Than a walk with Kim and the dogs.

First, I'm with you. I think of food all the time too and it's seriously annoying.

Your portions are small because you're picking calorically dense or processed things. For example, choosing rolled (old fashioned) oats - not prepackaged, and then adding sugar free sweetener (I personally love to add SF maple syrup) to it makes the portion bigger for the same amount of calories. For example, my normal breakfast is 1/3 c. dry rolled oats, microwaved with water, then add the syrup, paired with a 4 egg-white omelet with salsa on top - and all of that actually comes in at less calories than your breakfast and will last you a lot longer. I also posted a quiche recipe recently, and that is also fewer calories and will last you longer too.

When I'm hungry (whether physically or mentally) it's about switching out the processed or dense, for the stuff that isn't. It lets you eat more for less calories, stay full longer, and if you up your protein a bit - your blood sugar hangs in there better.

Julie, I understand completely. Food rules my life sometimes, especially when I am nervous or upset. It is so hard to put the food away when things are bad in your life. I find comfort in eating those bad food and it is a crying shame that it has to be that way. I would love to trade my overeating habit for a healthier one. I have come to the conclusion that God is the only one who can help me succeed in carrying on with my weight loss. I am thinking of you all the time and hope you are okay. Take care and God bless.

I do the Hungry Girl oatmeal recipe where you use a half cup of dry oats and two cups of water or maybe one cup water and one cup almond milk. I add a quarter cup of canned pumpkin and a tablespoon of chia seeds at the end and I have a HUGE bowl of oatmeal that holds me for quite some time. I do usually have a piece of fruit mid-morning.

It is bad that you can't have your water but I understand completely. I don't drink enough when we make trips because I don't want to keep stopping but it is not good for me.

OK, this will sound strange... But I use the sugar free oatmeal, mix it with diet soda ie DDP, till it turns into a past like mixture. Sometimes I will add PB2 also. Then I make cookies and bake them. They taste awesome and it makes eating my oatmeal more enjoyable.
I never said I was normal.... Gracie

I'm trying the Ketogenic diet right now. I am hoping to lose weight but, mostly, I'm just hoping to get away from glucose. I'm still plugging along at the Sprint 8 as well. Maybe spring break will be a good time to put more effort into it. Are you going to get spring break at all?

Less processed. More home made. Like Kyra said. You need to get all the nutrient and fiber benefit you can from whatever you eat. Instead of the water, how about an apple? It's moist, naturally sweet, full of nutrients and fiber. A small piece of cheese or tablespoon of peanut butter for protein.

It is great when you enjoy fitness and healthy lifestyle! Healthy nutrition is also vital to provide you enough fuel for active recreation. I've discovered a good nutraceutical product, which contains a bunch of vitamins and other natural compounds to refill energy supply. It is a dietary supplement - Multipurpose High-Potency Super Nutritional Complex by Military Grade. I was highly satisfied with the results! My tone went up, my workouts became more intensive. Besides, my sleep problems have gone, and I am full of energy during the day.
