Almost done…2nd to last week of the CDCC…

Well I’m not going out with a bang like I had hoped too. I wanted really to lose these last 10 lbs but they are staying glued on. Maybe it’s muscle I’m building up, I don’t know I just know that the scale didn’t move this week it’s still sitting at 178.4. Now I also have my TOM so at least it didn’t go up. I have worked my a** off this week and I haven’t had anything super bad for me but I also haven’t had the rainbow of veggies and fruits I should but that also takes money so if it’s green, red I eat it, I can afford that. The other colored stuff costs an arm and leg and really I’d rather be warm so will put the money into the wood/coal and eat my salads with cubes and tomatoes. I did eat a mixed green salad this week. I usually just buy the ice-berg mix and add spinach to it but this week in our basket of goodies from Ruby Ministries we got a bin of mixed greens. Looks like dandelion greens in there and purple stuff and some really weird stuff but I ate it and it tasted awesome. There’s enough for at least another huge salad so guess what I’m eating for lunch today.

I haven’t been reading my book, I’m  back to the school bus manual so that I am prepared for Tuesday’s test. It’s hard to pick and chose at times but since I have got to pass this test it’s a bit more important then life style changes. Then I can get to driving bus and being able to afford a few more colors in the rainbow.

I have visited you all at least once this week but I’m sorry I haven’t been there more. Hopefully this weekend I can catch up a bit but no promise yet.

There’s only one week left guys. Are your outfits going to fit the way you want them too or like me you have a bit more work to do? I hope you all did stellar and one day so will I. Right now it’s enough for me to just make it day to day getting everything I have to get done. I will be putting on my dress for you all next week and showing you what I have done. It didn’t go on at all when I started this challenge so we’ll see just where it goes and how it fits. Christmas is still 2 weeks to go so my TOM will be over and maybe a couple more pounds can leave too before I surprise Jim with it Christmas morning. What do you think he’ll say…?…he’s not a man of many words, at least not the romantic or the compliment kind.

So there my friends is my update. Nothing stellar, in fact it’s been awhile since I’ve had a stellar week. I’m holding on, hanging in there, working at this and a snail could pass me up but I’m determined, I will be 50 this April and I WILL BE!!! I will be fit, happy and healthy, ready to hit the 2nd part of my life running. Literally running, that is one of my new years goals, to run. To be a real runner. I can do it, I know I can.

Take care everyone and have a blessed and super totally awesome weekend.

I didn't make what I had planned either...though I did get an unexpected wearing of another outfit....maybe Mir's hubby could give ours lessons? I lv some of the "stranger" greens but like some crunch in my salad. I think the best thing I got out of Allan's challenges food wise was the basic salad idea. I always did celery as stalks or sticks for raw eating and chopped for cooking....I find that chopped is a much better way to eat it for me. Do you plant a little salad patch in the spring....we used to with lots of leaf style lettuce and eat it from the outside of the bunch each day.

slow and steady... don't be discouraged.

And why does it cost more to eat healthy... it just isn't fair! :P

I'm sure Jim will be impressed with your progress, no matter what. Just keep taking it a day at a time, hopefully one of these days life will slow down a little bit and you can take a breather. Don't stress so much about visiting everyone, it's okay. Just keep doing what you can. :)

Julie, I have that test date of yours deeply ingrained in my mind. I'll be praying.

You'll look awesome and Jim will smile his heart out. He might just go tomato red, if nothing else. You're building muscle which will help you be the runner you want to be. That's that.

Are you allowed to cheat and try the dress on now and then? I can't wait!!

Julie - a stellar week is one where you wake up every day, love the people around you and get loved back.

The rest is gravy.

Your weeks WERE stellar!

I think with the strength workout there will be muscle buildup, and that's a great thing. Slow and steady is good :)

when is your test?

I think you are doing great. I admire your ability to stick to a goal and see it through till the end.

I agree with Angela. Your week was stellar. You are strengthening your body and I´m sure it´s changing, even though the number doesn´t show it. For me this week, it´s a bigger number, but my body needs to build muscle yet, so that could change.
I wish you an awesome weekend!

I, too, think you had a great week. Don't be disappointed because it's not what you had hoped. Most of us have high expectations, but be happy for what you DID accomplish, and that you're maintaining.

I'm going to be a runner, too.

good luck on your test.

My dress is far from fitting correctly. Maybe a size 22 was a LITTLE ambitious... but at least I'll have SOMETHING in a smaller size when everything is too baggy to function. :)

Keep it up lady! I love what Angela said, A week of lovin' and being loved is always a success.

I have no doubt you'll be the runner you want to be! Don't give up! You look wonderful. :-) Have a great week! Hope your test went well!

Blessings,
Jill

You are an amazing woman!!! hardworking! Kind! Compassionate! You amaze me!! Youre working hard, and like you said several weeks ago, maybe this is where your body wants you. But maintaining doesnt mean stopping. Youll keep going, and if more comes off, then thats a bonus!!

I am right there with you. I did not hit my goal but I did not quit and neither have you. Life happens and we deal. As long as we never give up the fight then we are winners... The weight will come but the rewards of our hard work dedication are also to be admired.

Staying the course even without the big loss you hoped for is still a win-win for you and for me. You will get there and I bet before April.

Good luck on your bus test! Stay warm and strong! michele

I haven't had a stellar week in a while either, but we're still here (and I think you're already a "real" runner)! Wishing you the best for Tuesday's test, I know you'll rock it.

Hang in there, work at this, and be determined are words to live by. :)

IT's really weird how expensive the "good food" is, right? And then people complain that there are so many obese o unhealthy people... maybe they simply cannot afford the vitamins? (A family I know, with two kids, used to live on noodles and toast with ketchup, because it was the only way they could have enough food to feel satisfied.)

You're doing awesome! While it can be tough not to see that reflected to you by the scale with a loss you have to know that the fact that you continue & aspire to make it work is proof that you are making this top priority! You will get in that dress, can't wait to see it:-)
