The sirens are loud …

But it just makes the kids giggle louder. Today was a huge success with the kindergartners. We took 87 little ones for multiple rides. They had a blast and at the end we gave them each a fireman’s hat. Pictures to share of course.

First these are of my first two daycare girls. Well really Rachel came first and now she’s 11, almost 12 years old. She’s in 6th grade this year so it will be her last year to volunteer to help. Abby will have a couple more years but both of these girls and all of the daycare kids I have had through out the years have ridden in the fire truck from tiny wee one to, well tell they are gone or to old too.

Now here’s my oldest and youngest ones…

We own these two fire trucks. One’s a 1949, Chevrolet pumper truck (that’s the Palisade one) and the other one is a 1961 Chevrolet fire truck(that’s the McGregor one). We’ve used them in a few parades, as the pumper truck at our fireman’s competition, and mostly for these kindergartner rides. It’s been 15 years now we’ve been taking the kids for rides.

Today I have a small boy riding up front with me and he was telling me his older brother rode with me and he was so happy to be in my truck. His brother is 11 and has been talking about riding all these years. This is why we do this. The smiles and memories.

So there you have our morning. What an excellent way to spend a morning. Take care and have a blessed evening.
