I am a bus driver…

A real life bus driver. Not a sub, not an activity driver, not a special needs, not a van driver and not someone with a irregular schedule, which by the way I enjoyed fully but the hours and the time spent in travel coming and going and trying to make a living was a bit harder. I was hired this week for a full time bus run. I start at 6:00 am run till 9:00, get to come home and get stuff done or go to the gym and exercise or go to Kim’s and work on crafts and then get back to the garage and run from 2:00-5:30. I have my own bus that I don’t have to adjust the seat, move the mirrors and remember to take my glasses and sun glasses out of. I get to have “my” kids and teach them how to ride a bus and enjoy it without killing each other or me. I have a bus and I am so happy.

Meet my bus. It’s bus #1. She’s not new but not terribly old either. She has a few thousand miles on her and I will be putting on 160 miles a day on her. The seat is set, the mirrors are set and I cleaned her out tonight so come Monday morning we’ll get to start our long life together.

I am excited, scared and just so ready to have a regular income and make a living. And, if all goes well….just maybe be able to get a new pair of running shoes. I now also want to get a pair of warm hiking boots. My feet get pretty darn cold and I don’t want a heavy pair of winter boots because …. well can you imagine driving 160+ miles a day in huge winter boots.

I just had to share this with you my friends. Life is moving forwards and in the right direction. YEAH!!!

I’m going to craft a bit this weekend, it’s been ages. I’m going to take my mama out for breakfast and a little bit of shopping at the garden center. I’m going to take at least one nap. We’re going to drain all the outside water lines and get the boat and trailers put away before it snows. I’m shopping for groceries on Sunday and than we have to get the fire trucks out of storage so that on Tuesday we can take them to our local school for our annual Kindergarten Fire Safety ride. 16 years of giving 60+ young people rides on our 1949 and 1961 fire trucks. I’ll share some pictures later on in the week.

Take care and have an awesome and blessed weekend.

So happy for you! I know what you mean about having a regular income. One thing I realized after the girls grew up is that staying home is great but it means giving up any financial independence whatsoever. Making my own money is fantastic! I'm not sure I could drive a bus though. The kids around here can get pretty annoying. I love that y'all take the firetrucks to the kids! Our kindergarten classes always enjoy it when the firemen come---they bring the trucks and then they come in and read to the kids. Can't wait to see your pix!
