Learning to maintain….and….

Still eating rabbit food but it’s from the garden and tastes so amazing compared to the store bought stuff. Cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, carrots and lettuce with just an ounce of thin sliced turkey and a tiny drizzling of dressing, oh it’s so yummy. And the yogurt with fresh raspberries I just picked, heavenly dessert. And the best, fresh spring water from our artesian well, ice cold and so sweet. Sure can’t beat today’s lunch.

I made my daddy some apricot syrup from the apricot tree. We don’t have many this year so just made up 5 pints but daddy will love it none the less. Do you know there’s just three ingredients in making apricot syrup? It’s sugar, honey and apricots. Boiled all down, pureed and canned. Easy and so great tasting.

And last but not least, a little elderly gentleman lost his wife this past winter. While cleaning out her sewing room he found fleece material up to the ceiling and because he knew Mike was part of Project Linus (you remember that don’t you?) he spent the spring and summer making 50 blankets for Mike to donate for him. We got to spend part of the afternoon with him just chatting about his wife and all the things they use to do together and then with a few tears and hugs we excepted the blankets. It was awesome for the gentleman who wishes to be anonymous and for Mike to see how things can be at times. The gentleman would not let me take his pictures but I had to show you the bag after bag of blankets we got. Jonette, our blanket coordinator stopped by today and picked them. It was perfect timing because she lives in Black Duck but has heading to Brainerd for the day. YEAH!!!

Do you know what Project Linus is all about? No? Go here….Project Linus.

So now the day is half done and I’ve only had one wee one today so we’ve gotten lots done and had a blast just playing. Now she’s napping and I’m going to see what jewelry I can come up with in the next couple of hours. I hope you’re all have a great day. It’s the perfect weather here today, 64* sunny and a slight breeze that makes the house smell so fresh and clean. LOVE IT!!!

Take care and God Bless!!

This story gave me goosebumps. Bless the man for actually making the blankets. Did he do them on his own?
