Combining and learning…

My first blog …. The Life of Riley and  my second …. The going to be new me … have been the best things that could of happened to me in both sharing my life with everyone and sharing my weight loss journey. Now that life is taking a change and my weight loss journey has changed to maintenance and strengthening it’s time to start over and combine the two into this Healthy, Wealthy and Wise: NOT…but learning blog. I’ve come a long ways in the past year plus. I have lost 60 lbs, learn to jog. I have had daycare for 12 years now and am going to continue that but now going to become an activity bus driver also so that I can make ends meet while the kids are in school. Life here in the Riley household isn’t an easy one but for lots life isn’t easy. This is a household of three, Jim the dad, Mike the son and Julie…that’s me. We have 1 cat named Bobby or Kujo to Jim, and  2 dogs, Wilbur our spegial and Scout Mike’s black lab/collie. Like the world we struggle constantly to make ends meet. We are trying to survive the pre-20’s and the 50’s without disliking each other, which if you ask me is worse then trying to make ends meet at times. So that’s sums up what’s what.

Now for the what’s next. I have much I want to do. First and foremost is to become the best school bus driver I can be along with being the best daycare mommy possible. I love kids so between daycare, bus driving, scouting and any other kids work I can do I am going to make a living and keep on going. I want to learn to run . I did this, a 5K this past June in 34:08, but didn’t run the full thing, I want to in October. I want to tone up my body and most importantly strengthen my back. My back has been injured terrible while I was working at the nursing home and for the rest of my life I will be living with it. But with some strength in my muscles it should help some, heck the ones I’ve made now have made a difference. I want to live my life to the fullest, leaning on the Lord when I have to, standing strong when I can and asking for help along the way when I need it.

I have a couple things I am already involved in, there is a challenge called Slimmer this Summer. It’s put together by Debbi and Mir and it has only two weeks left. This challenge I am working on exercise. I am working on crunches, planks and leg lifts. I’m also working on the running, however I’m not to good at that yet. I haven’t been tip top on these exercises but I am plugging along.

Another challenge I’m taking on will be Brad’s Learn to run a 5K in 100 days. It starts August 28th and I will be up and ready for this challenge. As you know I tried this a month ago but life got in the way and I wasn’t able to do it. Well I am ready now and Brad has excepted me again. Brad Gansberg is a man on a mission, to teach people to run and to enjoy it. I am so ready to give the loving it a try. I have learned to love exercising so running just has to follow.

So this blog is going to have family, work, health, recipes, pictures (I love sharing pictures), and thoughts, prayers, ideas and so much more. Care to join me? If you want to know a bit more about me, go and read some on the other two blogs before they disappear. This is my life, the Life of Riley and now learning to be healthy, wealthy and wise.

Take care my friends and have an awesome week.

Love the new blog title. I've updated my blog roll accordingly. Good luck with the bus driving, learning your way around maintenance and with your running. One day I hope to run as well, but first I walk.

Dear Julie,
How wonderful it all sounds...just wish I could join you, but at 78,with all the poor health I have been (enjoying?), I am blessed to just be walking around and doing stuff that needs doing. I am so glad to hear from you again. Thanks for letting me know of your new blog.
