I found this and was thinking this would be a great way to work up a savings. The only problem is I get paid every other week and know that in the beginning of the year I could afford to just double each deposit but towards the end of the year I can’t take $200.00 a month and put it away. So I’m still working on it, I am thinking $50.00 a month would be more manageable. Doesn’t add up to $1300.00 but $600.00 would be more than I have now so a start. What do you do to save money? Are you on a tight budget, little pay checks? Any magic ideas to saving?
Blessings!!

I started this with the new year, too! I'm trying to simplify my life and I spend way to much on frivolous items like fancy coffee drinks, magazines and beauty items. I thought this would be a good way to be conscious of my spending and to save a bit of pocket change.
I am so bad at saving money. Whenever I get a little bundle going something comes up or I pay off some debt I've created in the meantime. My focus this year is to clean up debt. It'll actually be longer than a year to do so but this year is the first so it will be how to get working on the clean up without creating more & possibly saving a penny here or there if possible. That saving part may not be feasible this first year but my plan is when I get a raise that little extra that is added in my biweekly pay can be trimmed off & put aside for savings cause that is new money that I lived without until then so I won't miss it when it starts showing up:-) My raise is usually in May so there will be 7 months of savings accrued that way at least:-)
I've been footloose and fancy free with money for a few years, but being a very conservative person means I'm not living beyond my means. Still, we have decided to go on a strict budget this year for a variety of reasons. I'm kind of excited to see how well I can do. Good luck to both of us on saving some money. :)
With the new move and all of the furniture we need, money has been tight. We just don't spend any fun money. We buy what we need and leave it at that. Aaron had it set up to take $50 from his paycheck every time to put in his savings account. I don't know if he still has it with the new job, but that's our main way. I like this idea though. It's not bad.
Im doing the same thing~~~ But with less money. I get paid every other week too. I will only have half the money, but thats better than nothing!!!And if I have some extra some weeks, Ill throw that in, but for now, Im doing the every other week!
We are on a very tight budget at this time so it really isn't doable. I do put away a few dollars for my kids boys scouts and girl scouts registrations every year and some for Christmas, but it won't add up to $2000. Just doing the best I can :).
