Have you done any research online (there are so many websites) as to how to prevent injuries? I am not sure if Bard talks about it, but I go to the web for lots of info, especially WebMD (http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/ten-common-running-injuries).<br /><br />Swimming is excellent exercise! You live and lea...This sucks. Sucks bad. :( Sorry.<br /><br />You live and learn, sweets. This is a terrible, painful lesson, but you're bright and of strong heart, and you will understand the lesson in this pain. Your body does have limits, and you must listen to it. Pushing is good, as long as it's not PUSHING BEYOND TO INJURY. right?<br /><br />I tend to stop any activity when I feel actual pain...my trainer is good about making me, too, as sometimes the stubborn part of me wants to try again. I've had to go easier some sessions just cause the arthritis held me back, and I'd get frustrated. But injury is not what I'm after: health is.<br /><br />Listen. Heal. Learn. And when you move again, move with health, not just beating odds/records/times. Races are not as important as health. It's about HEALTH.<br /><br />This is also why I'll never run. I'm old, still fat, arthritic, with bad knees. If I ran, I'd be hospitalized for knee surgery, and I know it. Sigh. Wish I could run. WISH. I think swimming sounds perfect - even just hanging on to the side and doing kicks. My girlfriend only swims and she has a gorgeous figure and eats circles around me, so it must work!
